OMG, the amount of times I have been in this lane is crazy! Every time I have to do something new or different, I always feel like someone will call me out as a fraud.
I think back to when this was only a side hustle, and I did not want to share my face on my posts because I was scared people would say I don’t have enough experience. From having my first paid client – for so long, I did not think what I did was good enough to get paid even though I have seen people offer less than I do and get paid more than I could dream of charging a client.
I even remember a discovery call I had with a business coach – she was so convinced that I was the right social media manager for her, but at the end of the call, I knew I screwed up. I unsold myself because I was not confident that I could work with someone that I look up to.
Putting together my first group coaching program, the first time I started recording, I did it in the car with only sound as I did not want anyone to see me or anyone in my house hear me. But OMG, I am happy that I actually showed up and recorded the program with my face on the slides (sorry for those that don’t like my face).
And don’t get me going on working with clients in different niches. There are always some that I am more comfortable with because I know their niche and understand it to some extend.

Why am I telling you this?
I want you to know that even people that look like they have their shit together have imposter syndrome! And just because you feel like you are not in your lane does not mean you need to stop.
You will always find someone who knows more than you and do things better; instead of comparing yourself to them, look at how you can up your skills. The main thing about imposter syndrome is every time you learn new things, you will feel like an imposter; every time you up your skills, you will feel like an imposter. At the end of the day, you need to do you! Don’t let perfection stop you from achieving your goals or doing that damn thing!
Always do things to add value! If you find yourself doing things just because you want to see what Sally is doing and judge her, STOP! If you do the work, you will become more confident, find out what skills you want to improve, and put in the time to educate yourself. The key is to be confident!
For those who know me, I am an Introvert, and having to put myself out there is hard, but with every small step I take, I know that I will overcome these obstacles. I promise you I would rather not show up, but I know how these changes have impacted my life and business.
Everyone doubts themselves (unless you are a unicorn) – some do it in their heads because they don’t believe that others doubt themselves. You will never know how much work someone else has to put in to do just what you do, and no doubt you know how hard you have to work doing something that you are not that great at.
Can you imagine that your imposter syndrome stops you from starting your business, applying for that dream job, or working with your dream client? As humans, we have been trained to focus on the negative, and you need to start making a point of celebrating the small wins.

If you want to overcome your own imposter syndrome, you need to make a list of 5 things you say to yourself that stops you. You will notice as you start making this list that there might be more than 5 things; write them all down. Then write the reason why these things are not true.
Some limiting beliefs examples and how they are not true:
“Everyone is so much further along than me” – why this is not true would be “No one becomes an overnight success, I am exactly where I need to be”
“I have failed before” – why this is not true “There are no such thing as failure only opportunities to learn”
As scary as it sounds, you need to take action on these points. Put a deadline to it, whether it is going live, showing your face on social media posts, recording that YouTube video, or starting your podcast. Yes, the first few times, you might not enjoy it, and you might even think it looks and sounds shit, but can you imagine 6 months from now you look back at when you started how proud you will be of your growth? If you do not start now, 6 months from now, you will still be in the same place.
One last thing that I want you to remember is, "Someone who does more than you will never judge you"!
